Abstract

Prolonged labor is labor that lasts more than 18 hours starting from the signs of labor. World Health Organization (WHO) MMR in the world is estimated at 529,000 (99%) with an average incidence of prolonged labor in the world at 8%. in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of maternal knowledge about long labor in Sipohuk Lama, Halongonan sub-district, North Padang lawas district in 2019. The research method was descriptive by taking a simple random sample (sampling random sampling) of 30 people from 119 people. The time of the study was January -april 2019. The results show that the general description of knowledge about prolonged labor in mothers is in the tofu category of 62.34% (34-67%). The description of mother's knowledge based on the majority category in the know category as many as 16 respondents (53.3%) in the less know category by 2 people (6.7%), and in the very know category by 12 people (40.0%). The description of knowledge based on age classified as those who know the highest age 31-35 years is 11 people (57.9%). Based on education, the highest year is SMA with 10 people (90.9%). Based on occupations classified as knowing IRT of 7 people (63.6%). Based on the sources of information classified as having the highest knowledge of electronic media, 13 people (76.5%). Based on parity, those who are classified as the most knowledgeable are skundi para by 6 people (66.7%).
